"I'm having a problem when I ask my heroes to select gear from the item pool after a battle. They always select worse and worse helmets to the point where they are only wearing a wool hat."
"My companions do not take better helmets. Indeed they drop their supirior helmet in the chest to take a much worse one. And yes, I checked the update armour button."
Workaround installed for 2.52 patch.
Okay, I know why the helmets are being traded out incorrectly. That is because helmets are not registering a proper item score based on their armor. Instead they're all a base score of 1 which is then modified by the item modifier. So essentially a <good> low armor helmet > <bad / normal> high armor helmet. Why the score isn't being handled is still being figured out. This is at script "get_item_score_with_imod". Windyplains 18:36, April 3, 2012 (UTC)
It doesn't appear that slot_item_head_armor is ever populated by the engine with a value. Nothing in the module system that I noticed fills this information, or slot_item_body_armor yet it has value, so I'm guessing it might be engine side. I'm wondering if using item value modified by modifier qualities might be a reasonable stand in until something else can be figured out. Windyplains 20:31, April 3, 2012 (UTC)
Updated the patch source to use item value for helmets whenever the helmet armor value is not found. Windyplains 20:53, April 3, 2012 (UTC)
Possible slot-conflict with slots I forgot to comment out of PBOD when they were duplicated by Custom Commander. Took care of it, hopefully that addresses this. slot_item_* are set in module_my_mod_set.py Caba 23:30, April 3, 2012 (UTC)
