Employees (Diplomacy Mod)

You gain the opportunity to hire

  • a chamberlain when you gain your first village,
  • a constable when you gain your first castle,
  • and a chancellor when you gain your first town.

If you dismiss one of your employees, you may be able to rehire them through a well-connected spouse or one of the travellers who frequent the taverns of Calradia.

Chamberlain Aubrey de Vere

You need a village, castle or a town to appoint a chamberlain. After you have one it might take up to three game weeks until the popup menu appears letting you appoint a chamberlain. If you only own village(s), they will appear near your village elder. If you own a castle they will appear there.
Features:

  • Report about your financial affairs (total income and costs)
  • Treasury
  • Report on financial situation of one of your fiefs (prosperity, relation, income, costs)
  • Adjust tax rate for your fiefs
    (Note: Low taxes lead to higher prosperity, high taxes to lower prosperity.)
  • Order the building of new fief improvements
  • Manage item pool and household
Chamberlain

Constable Miles de Gloucester

You need a castle or a town to appoint a constable. After you have a town or castle it might take up to three game weeks until the popup menu appears letting you appoint a constable. They will appear in any of your castles.
Features:

  • Report on the course of current wars of your faction/realm
  • Sending a spy (300 denars) and get information on centers
  • Release your noble prisoners
  • Report on the strength of your army (the armies of your vassals, the garrison of a vassal's fief)
  • Sell prisoners
  • Armory
  • Recruit and train soldiers
  • Send out and order back patrols (small, medium, large, elite, garrison troops)

(You can selectively train troops by moving them to the top of the troop list of a garrison. Only the uppermost of compatible troops will be trained)

Constable

Chancellor Herfast

You need a town to appoint a chancellor. After you have a town it might take up to three game weeks until the popup menu appears letting you appoint a constable. They will appear in towns and castles.
Features:

  • Adjust domestic policy of your realm (only as ruler)
  • Information on a lord (reputation, relation to his liege)
  • Send a message to another lord (ask for accompany you, go to, patrol, flee to, besiege, or raid around a certain location)
  • Send a gift to a person or a settlement to improve relations
  • Manage household possessions
Chancellor

Note: All three of these employees are the only ones that can be hired, a companion cannot take the place of any of these, unlike the minister.
